Announcing the launch of Horsham Piazza Italia 2009 and the new Horsham Piazza Italia Rally in aid of Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice

This now yearly event will take place on April 10th. A celebration of all things Italian, it is growing into a motoring extravaganza. Starting last year, Ferrari Owners Groups were joined by The Ducati Owners Club. We fielded 22 beautiful motorcycles and made quite a parade entrance into town!

THIS year we are inviting other marques of Italian motorcycles to join us on the day. We hope to assemble 100 gorgeous two-wheeled machines. Would you like to take part? The official press release follows below.

We are organising a ride-in to Horsham from Pietro's Motori di Marino. If you've not yet been for a visit you're in for a treat. Located in beautiful West Chiltington, Pietro's shop contains fascinating Italian bikes in a 1950's-style setting. He and his Denise are generous and gracious hosts. It's a perfect place to gather before we ride in to Horsham.

The ride from Pietro's to Horsham is about 14 miles, all times will be confirmed as and when they come available.

Registration

According to the organisers, participation will be by permit only. Registration will take place at the West Chiltington meeting place, Motori di Marino. A £5 donation is requested to support the chosen charity, Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice. A 100 bike limit has been imposed on the parade/display in Horsham. I encourage you to reserve your place as described below!

The Sussex Ferrari Owners Club, Rusper Alfa Romeo and Owners Clubs and the Ducati Owners Club GB, together with Horsham District Council, will again host the car and bike section of the annual Piazza Italia Festival in Horsham this Easter Friday and Saturday.

Following the success of previous years, the event will bring some of Italy’s most desirable and charismatic cars and bikes into the heart of Horsham’s charming town centre to become part of a town wide celebration of all things Italian. Pedestrian friendly zones will allow the cars and bikes, to be safely viewed by the public from just after 12 to 3pm each day. The event's display areas also feature some great restaurants, cafes and independent shops and there will be a range of themed entertainments and a real Italian market. The event even feature’s its own Piazza Italia beer courtesy of local Hepworth Brewery. Again this promises to be an event not to be missed! Admission is free of charge to all spectators.

This year the organisers will be staging the Horsham Piazza Italia Rally on behalf of Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice with individual groups of vehicles starting off from points around the Horsham District and Dorking to converge on the town centre itself at mid-day both days. Friday is Ferrari and Italian bikes day with Saturday reserved for the Alfa Romeo Clubs and owners of Maserati, Lamborghini and other pedigree Italian marques. So why not join in and grab yourself a slice of Horsham Piazza Italia?

Entry will be by permit only. Space will be limited and entries are bound to be oversubscribed so don't delay! All accepted entrants will receive a 2009 Piazza Italia Rally sticker for their vehicle in return for a donation of just £5.
